I've been to Japan last month for couple of weeks and the entire experience was mesmerising. Absolutely magical. Everything seems different and admirable about this place and people here. I have been lucky to visit both Kyoto and Tokyo. In next few days I will try and post pictures I took in Kyoto.
Kyoto is full of Japanese culture and history. You can see that and feel that everywhere you go in Kyoto. Here are some of the photos from Higashiyama area. There was a "Hanatoro" festival during that time and whole area was light up with thousands of lanterns.
